Rosario John Scavelli

In lieu of flowers please make donations in memory of Rosario to the Wounded Warrior Project- https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/ Rosario John Scavelli, of Brooklyn, NY, passed peacefully at the age of 91 years old on morning of April 25th in Highland Beach, FL with his daughter Andrea Scavelli Ankner by his side and surrounded by love. Son of Lucy Anzelone and Rosario Scavelli, he was born on January 12th, 1932, and was a loving and proud father, grandfather, great grandfather, husband, brother, and son. He is survived by his daughter Andrea Scavelli Ankner, grandsons Robert Scavelli (Alexa Green Scavelli), James Scavelli (Clara Scavelli), Brandon Scavelli, Johnathon Ankner, Joseph Ankner, and great grandson Liam Scavelli. He now joins his parents, his high school sweetheart Irene, his late wife Helen, brothers Dominic, Nicholas and John, and sons Robert and Russy in heaven. Rosario lived life to the fullest, cherishing the smallest details and relishing in the beauty of each day. He cared for his family and friends deeply and was loved by so many. He was proud to serve as a Sargent in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War and worked as a butcher before owning a string of gourmet delis in Brooklyn Heights. He was an avid golfer and a long-time member at North Hills Country Club in Douglaston, NY. He loved taking his family and friends out for a good meal at his favorite restaurants and singing along to Frank Sinatra. Rosario was quick with a joke and to lend a hand and we will sorely miss his tender loving care.
