Herbert Roland Ramirez Jr., 48, passed away on March 29, 2025. Herbert—also known as Roland—had the heart of a warrior and the soul of a caretaker. He was fiercely protective, endlessly encouraging, and always checking in on his loved ones. He often reminded his family, “I pray that we all stay strong and healthy, in Jesus’ name!” and signed off with his signature message, “Love you all”—a simple but powerful expression of his love, faith, and strength. A beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, cousin, and friend—Roland made people feel at home just by being himself. He brought comfort, laughter, and a quiet strength wherever he went. Born in Mineola, NY, and raised with deep roots in Freeport before later moving to Suffolk County, Roland was the son of Salvadoran parents, Herbert and Sara Ramirez. He took great pride in his Salvadoran roots—often reading about its history, culture, and traditions—and carried that spirit with him in the way he lived and loved. Roland, along with his wife Mary and daughter Melany, was a devoted parishioner at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, where they worshipped together as a family. In difficult times, he would often say, “My God is faithful, until the end, in Jesus’ name!” —a reflection of the many blessings and personal testimonies he carried throughout his life. Roland earned his degree from Stony Brook University and completed Paralegal Studies at Hofstra University. But beyond achievements on paper, his greatest legacy was the love he gave so freely. He married his soulmate, Mary, on March 17, 2018, and took immense joy in raising their daughter, Melany. He was a devoted husband and a loving, hands-on father—always helping her with her studies and encouraging her to get involved in extracurricular activities. He was also a steady source of support and encouragement to everyone in his life. To his mother Sara, his siblings Jackeline, Brian, and Steve, and his nieces and nephews Brian Jr., Ariyanna, and Avalina, Roland was the steady presence in all of our lives—always ready with a laugh, a thoughtful word, or quiet encouragement when it mattered most. “Love you guys… Always!” was his way of giving us strength and reminding us of the love that bound us together. Roland’s absence leaves a void that words cannot fill, but his presence—his prayers, his support, his humor, and his strength—will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He was a man of God, a man of family, and a man of love. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Hungerford & Clark Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 9:45 AM, followed by burial at Greenfield Cemetery.
