Richard C. Quinn

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard C. Quinn Sr., a loving husband and devoted father who passed away peacefully at his home on December 10th, 2024, at the age of 88, with his loving wife Ana Maria Hurtado Quinn by his side. He was born on September 25th, 1936. Richard grew up in Flushing NY, graduated from St. John’s University, and was a longtime resident of Rockville Centre, NY. He was an avid golfer and a dedicated member of the Rockville Links Country Club, where he loved to spend time with family and friends. Richard served our country as a United States Navy Lieutenant and was designated a Naval Aviator on September 4th, 1962. He flew C-130’s with the VR3 Transport Squadron and received an honorable discharge from the service on December 1st, 1973. After serving in the Navy, he carried out a successful career with the New York City Board of Education. Richard was pre-deceased by his daughter Suszanne Quinn, and he is survived by his loving wife Ana Maria Hurtado Quinn, brother Edward “Ned” Quinn, his children Kerri Quinn Reynolds, Richard Quinn Jr. (Nancy Quinn) and his stepdaughter Ana Maria Hurtado Grabovenko (Greg Grabovenko). He was a loving and supportive grandfather to Ashley Reynolds Jones (Brent Jones), Kelsey Reynolds, Carter Reynolds, Sandra Quinn, and Lia Grabovenko, and a great-grandfather to Cameron Jones and Caroline Jones. Richard is also survived by the mother of his children Barbara Quinn, with whom he held a friendly relationship. Richard was a generous man, always looking out for his family and friends. He prioritized the needs of others and never failed to offer a helping hand with a smile on his face. His wisdom and humor left a lasting imprint on all who had the honor of knowing him. We love him very much and he will be missed greatly.
